VACANCY FOR PART-TIME PARISH CLERK

 

Applications are invited by Ingleton Parish Council for the post of Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to commence as soon as possible. Closing date for applications Friday the 11th August 2017.

You will be responsible for the preparation of agendas, taking minutes, dealing with correspondence, liaising with contractors and other local council and government agencies, management of accounts to include keeping all financial records, bank reconciliations, preparation of budgets, VAT returns, PAYE, insurances, organising audits, annual returns etc.

You will be responsible for the administration of the Ingleton Parish Council website and the publication of all necessary electronic documentation. 

You will have responsibility for ensuring correct procedures are followed and advising the Parish Council to ensure that it acts within its powers.  The ability to communicate well at all levels is essential.

Applicants should have good IT skills and experience in financial accounting/budgeting, preparing agendas and minutes, and ideally should have previous experience working as a Parish Clerk. It is desirable that the applicant holds, or is working towards or willing to obtain the CiLCA qualification.

The salary is based on 3 hours per week and will be calculated according to the Nation Joint Council rates for small councils and is dependent upon qualifications and/or experience.

Attendance is required at the Parish Council Meetings held in the evening several times throughout the year in Ingleton Sports Pavilion and at other ad-hoc special meetings arranged as necessary. 

The ideal applicant will have financial & administrative experience, the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget and be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for working with residents and local organisations.
